Originally a poem written for the author's daughter, A Lullaby at Light Speed (2019) is a whirlwind trip through time and space, loneliness and joy, magic and reality. Lavishly illustrated, all the drawings were made with chalk and mineral pigment on the black-board-painted walls of the author's apartment in an ancient Chinese watertown, some way out from downtown Shanghai.
Mixing Eastern and Western perspectives, we inevitably come full-circle.
